Garrison Scott is 16 years old and is attending Tenth grade at Jenks High School, in Jenks America.
In 2005, He was awarded the Bronze
Distinguished Citizenship Medal by the United States Marine Corps League for
his work in the community. In 2007 he was honored once again with his second
Citizenship Medal for his achieving the rank of Eagle Scout.
Garrison is also a student pilot and attends Ground School through the Explorer Scout program at Spartan Aviation during the school year. His flight Instructor is also with Spartan Aviation.
As a member of the Boy Scouts of America, Jenks Troop 214, Garrison holds the rank of Eagle Scout.
Garrison is in his fourth year
of Chinese Language Studies at Jenks High School, and was accepted in the
Chinese Exchange Program for the Middle school year 2007. From March, 17th
through March 31st, as a part of the nine Jenks Middle School Chinese Exchange
Students, Garrison traveled to China to study in Shenyang, China at the Shenyang
Experimental School. While in China he also spent three days in Beijing site
seeing and shopping.
Garrison has studied Martial Arts
for over nine years. Master Instructor, Eric Devonshire, has instructed young
Garrison for over seven years. He continues to mentor and walk the young Martial
Artist through the tenets of Martial Arts at the Tulsa Tae Kwon Do Academy
located in the Thornton YMCA of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Garrison remains the youngest
3rd Degree Black Belt in the 22-year history of the Academy and currently
holds two different Black Belts. He has studied 3 styles of Martial Arts and
currently holds the rank of 1st degree Black Belt in the style of Tang Soo
Do, Tae Kwon Do, (Similar to the Chuck Norris Style). The rank of 3rd degree
Black Belt in the style of Kukki Tae Kwon Do (Olympic Style) and a Green Belt
in the style of Aiki Jujitsu (Stephen Segal Type Style).
Garrison has worked on the John Sullivan 2004 , 2006, and 2008 campaigns, in the First District of Oklahoma, supporting the Congressman’s conservative values. He is also the Webmaster of his own web site called teens4sullivan2010.com, where he writes about the activities of Congressman Sullivan and reports the current news from a teens prospective. In 2007 he received a United States Congressional Citation from Congressman Sullivan for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout.
Garrison, paged for the State House in 2007 for State Representative Jordan, and will go again in the State Senate for State Senator Dan Newberry in April of 2009.
After graduating from Jenks High
School, Garrison plans to attend the Annapolis Naval Academy and major in
International Relations. He would like to designate as a United States Marine
Corps Officer. As a Marine, he would like to become a Marine Corps Pilot or
maybe an Intelligence Officer. In the event he can not attend Annapolis, Garrison
is looking at Oklahoma University, and participating in the OU Naval ROTC
Program. After that, he would like to work in international politics and perhaps
international trade.
On Garrisons off time he enjoys going to the rifle range with his dad, camping, kayaking, repelling and fishing with his friends, and watching Jenks High School Football.
